New Cam4 Video Software
Cam4 upgraded to a new version of video software at about 10am EST today. This upgrade does not provide new features. It cleans up some problems and makes the video and chat run faster.
Some people are running an older version which will no longer work properly. Anyone using the old video software will not be able to load the video but the chat room will work. If you have this problem, you can find your Cam4 software version by placing you mouse over the cam4 logo above the video feed. The current and only valid version is 3.3.1.
If you are using an older version, it may be because the old version is cached and you are not downloading/updating to the new version when you view cams on Cam4. You can try to clear you cache to fix the problem. How you clear your cache, depends on the browser you use.
Click Here for instructions for clearing your cache on all browsers.
If this still does not clear up the problem, please send an email to kim@cam4.biz so we can troubleshoot the problem. Please provide the following information if you can:
– Cam4 Video Version Number
– IP address
– Cams you tried to view
– Approximate time of problem

Just to let iPhone users know how to access cams on cam4. Buy skyfire browser app from AppStore. Has flash. Only thing is u can only view u cannot interact or chat.
earlier today i tried to access cam4.com via my mobile phone (samsung on android 2.2.2) and couldnt view the cam for unknown reasons. (couldnt even see the cam trying to load) is there a way i can fix this? if so. how?

Iphones don’t support flash which is used for the webcam. We don’t have any current plans to support Iphone. Android works now. Perhaps in the future.
Hi, Just wondering when/if you will be putting the functionality in to be able to broadcast from Android smartphones in the future? This would be a great addition to the site. Video braodcast is now available on android platforms. Yahoo have done it, VideoFriends have done it. You guys shoudl do it.

When i try to broadcast my cam everything loads apart from my cam itself, not even the light on my cam comes on, it just has a grey screen but still has the chat up, so what can i do to solve this?? :(

Did you try your cam with other programs to see if it works there? Ex. Skype or Yahoo/MSN messenger?

I don’t know if this might be connected with a client I had. If you could see my records he sent me tokens a couple of times. then one day I just saw from my earnings that I got fraud tips all of which was related to him. I don’t know how that could have happened because he gave those on his own free will. I asked him several times if he wanted a show in return but he declined because he said he just wanted to help me.
So I wish to ask you. Is it that easy to take back the tips that clients give us? I mean, I feel like i’m the one who’s been a victim of fraud here. How are we assured that this cannot happen to me or to any other performer again? His name was patrick and he’s now changed his nick to bobmargaret..

If your tips are fraudulent and we believe you to be involved in the fraud, we wil take the tips away from your account and report you to the authorities in your country. You can contact support and ask them for the details of your case. I cannot comment on legal action in public on the blog.
I always get the message “Error(C102). Sorry you have been banned from the site” everytime I broadcast using a wireless internet but I tried using my friends computer who is using a wired connection and I am able to broadcast so I’m confused. I don’t know what the problem is, if I am banned or not.. please help me tnx..

I am having alot of trouble accessing the cams at cam4.com. When I try to load a cam i usually get a connection error msg. I sometimes succeed in opening a cam but after a few minutes – if not sooner, I get the connection error msg. I tried running cam4 on IE 8 and Mozilla 2.0.0.20. Running Cam4 version 3.7.4. Any advice on how to get it to work?

I would ask Cam4 support as they are more qualified to answer these types of questions.
It could be an internet connection issue. Do a speedtest to test the speed of your internet connection. See if you are getting what you paid for. If not there could be cabling issues, wireless issues, too many people using the connection, etc. Make sure you are not downloading files and playing music when you are watching cams as they all compete for the same internet bandwidth.
Also you can try a ping test to see if the internet connection has issues. High packet loss could be an issue causing you to loose your connection to Cam4. Packet loss is usually a network problem and you would have to contact your ISP to help you fix it.

Yesterday i was successfully broadcast (march 25, 2011) but now as i want to broadcast again in cam4. they didnt broadcast me, its always happen to me sometimes i cant broadcast and sometimes i can broadcast. Please help me coz i really dont know what will i do. i contact already kim or support but no yet reply. and upon checking my version in cam4 it was 3.5.9 and not version 3.3.1 im using windows 7 and mozilla firefox 3.5.18 please what will i do now. my username in cam4 is Top_mistress (shemale category).

“wackyboi” broke the rules at work, using CAM4?

There is no user on Cam4 with the username wackyboi. If this person’s friend used his computer, was asking for paypal and got the IP banned then he will not be able to use the same computer. We will not restore the account because he will probably let his friend use the computer again.

Now i know what im banned since im not the one only using my computer…i have noticed that my co worker username wackyboi in male category is the one who asking about paypal and i know that because his account is now terminate so i think that is the cause why i banned to coz we use same computer and even i didnt dont break your rules….im affected. so please let me know what will i do now on this problem. wackyboi is no longer work here for the reason that he break your rules. please help me and understand now my situation.

Oh im sorry to hear and please…once again…forgive me and i will assure that it will not happen again…because as i remember that many member asking for paypal and at first i was curious but now i realized that most of members fooled me and not doing paypal. so i will not intertain anymore members who asking paypal show or others…instead i will concentrate to cam4 and i have regular members who tip me tokens. i hope once again u forgive me. thanks

When i try to a view a broadcast everything loads on the page except the actual video, there is just a white screen, now ive updated my java and adobe and active x but still i cant see them! Can you help?

Lee, we are not going to bring back a larger encoding until the majority of people can handle it without problem or there is a way to encode multiple sizes at the same time.
Hi there.
I have not been on cam4 for about 6 months. But i used to broadcast my cam and it worked perfectly. But now returnint to cam4 whenever i broadcast my cam i get ‘connection error’ message; seemingly at random points. Sometimes my cam lasts a few minutes, sometimes longer, sometimes shorter but I always seem to get that message :(
What can I do? I have the correct 3.3.1 version.

thanks again for the reply. it’s obviously an issue that the end users should take up with their device manufacturer. but if the end result is being able to view the cams on our mobile devices- GREAT!! however, in my case- the manufacturer of my device does not support Adobe flash player… so unless Cam4 modifies the way mobile devices view the cams in a way that does not require flash, I don’t see a positive outcome for myself and other users with devices made by the same manufacturer as me. thanks for replying.

Cam4 removed the redirect for mobile phones. All phones can access Cam4 now. If you have an Android phone you can watch the cams live on your phone. Flash will not work on the Iphone or other phones but we will work out a solution for those.

It is awesome that you want to “give as much of the current cam4 experience as possible on as many phones and pads as possible”, but i still see no justification for taking it completely away until you have a “solid plan”. Why not let us keep what functionality and access we had, structure the further advancements, and then implement them. again, josh.

People complained that the webcams did not work on their phones. So we took it down rather than field the customer support issues.
hi- I am having the same issue with the naughty.com redirect. you are correct that on iPhones there is no flash player, but you were still able to view profiles, recent broadcast photos, read and leave comments, etc. please consider removing the redirect. if the cams won’t load (which they won’t, I understand that) – then they obviously WONT LOAD. but I don’t feel like the complete inability to access the site is necessary. please and thank you.

Once we have a solid plan we will begin work. We would like to basically give as much of the current cam4 experience as possible on as many phones and pads as possible. So we are creating a plan and assembling a team to do that now.

I used tone able to go to your website from my phone (android). Now when I try to go, it automatically gets redirected to m.naughty.com. Is that right or do I have some type of virus on my phone. Cam4 works fine on my desktop. Can you help me?
American Me, that redirect was put there because most smartphone like iphone and ipad don’t allow flash so you can’t view the cams anyway. But Android can, so I’ve talked to the programmers and they will remove that redirect so you can access Cam4 from your Android phone. They will push that change live in the morning so try it tomorrow and let me know if it works for you again.

Smoothbi, When you go private now, you create a password for your room. Then you give that password out to anyone you want to allow inside via the internal cam4 message system, email, or instant messenger.

I can see 3.3.1 when I hover my mouse over the cam4 logo but I can see only half of the cam, like the example shown above, of any cam I view. This started happening yesterday and I haven’t been able to view any cam since then. Clearing my cache does not have any effect. Any ideas?

How would it change the pages, based on ranking of the number of users?
Something similar to this was suggested and considered not such a good idea, while the majority are for it per a poll in the CAM4 Yahoo! Group.
I don’t have details of how it would work exactly but I asked to be able to see F&F, online first, with more info and updated cam cap included. This would be the page that exists in Profile [Edit] Friends & Favorites. Perhaps we could make it another tab. It wouldn’t affect the current ranking of users in the other tabs.

Estaban, Pablo585, xszerd2, jasgay, jptn, Gasquesbrs and others that are getting the error “‘User authentication failure (C101). Please relogin and try again”
Unfortunately this error message can indicate one of two problems. The first is that you are banned for the room. If this is the case, the error message should actually say “You are banned from this room”. So we will be changing this message in the next release of the software. There is nothing you can do if you are banned by a performer from their room. You just have to watch other cams.
The other time that this error occurs is during a problem with the servers which check your login and password. This is a randomly occurring problem that seems to have gotten worse with the last software update. If you wait a couple of minutes and try another cam or the same cam again, the server will recognize you and you will not get this error.
Our programmers are working on a software patch to fix this problem and they say they will release it in a couple of days. We are very sorry for the inconvenience this causes.

I’m getting a lot of “connection error” with this new version, anyone else having the same problem?
as soon as i try to broadcast the cam i am viewing shuts down and says connection error , therefore i can’t c2c any more.
If I could make a suggestion for your next upgrade. We all have “friends” and “favorites” lists, which are obviously saved on your servers and in some kind of database or record associated with our accounts.
How cool would it be to upgrade your capacities to allow us to:
1. Manage our friends and favorites list from our “edit profile” page, and;
2. It would be really awesome if we could get a customized page that displays which of our friends/favorites are online and on camera. Sort of our own personalized index page. Get the idea?
While I understand that it would change the nature of the site (pages based on rankings of the number of users) it would also be a great added functionality that would allow users to find friends/favorites who are online/on cam without using the clunky interface now available under a tab of an online chat room.
Thanks for your great service and your constant upgrading of your software. You guys are great!
