Improved photo galleries and broadcast gallery views
One of the more noticeable changes has been to the photo galleries and broadcast galleries: Upload photos to fill out your profile and give more for your fans to browse though. Or let the broadcast gallery show your fans what they’ve missed.
Trophies and Awards:
You know those awards that you or your favorite performers have received for their exceptional shows? Now you’ll be able to show off your victories on your profile with added visibility.
Newly designed tools for managing your account
You’ll find a wealth of new tools within your Manage section to beef up your profile. Fill in your details and photos or hide them all together. That part is up to you.

I have a problem with my favorite section edit friends and favorites tab I only appear 7 and I have added 14 want to delete one but I can not because I do not appear in the section and does not connect and a friend otherwise I can not view photos transmitted after the May 23 and already transmitted only to persons who registered after last update of the profiles are transmitted pictures sorry for my English but not speak or write it down use google translator
is it possable 2 make it so broadcasters can block a state and not the whole USA , I know a few girls having stalking problems and this would help.
Two NEW problems with cam4.
1. Broadcast archives are COMPLETELY missing even from pages that had broadcast archives enabled. Please fix this. The archives are always so great to see.
2. In the ‘edit Friends and Favorites’ section, favorites are no longer in alphabetical order. It makes finding a particular friend very difficult.
Thought you might like to know about the new problems that have just started happenning. I am not sure how NEW problems just start to happen. It’s too bad.

Sure it should be fixed… but in the meantime do a Crtl+F and put the beginning of the users you wish to find.
now the friend and favorite list are out of order XD
Ever since you changed to new layout, the delete friends function does not work at all. I’ve tried for over a week now to delete one about 30 times now. I used your Contact link at cam4 and wrote to Help and Technical 3 times but received no answer. When do you think this will be fixed? Thank you.
I found the reason why the new layout is not working for a bunch of people; it is because of addons such as AdBlock. By default, AdBlock blocks all pages containing .withAds and, in the new layout, everything to do with profiles (images, chat wall, info, etc.) is contained in the border containing .withAds. If you can do it, remove the ##.withAds from your addon.
I contacted the people who write Easylist, which is the source of the ##.withAds rule, and they really kindly put an exception into the rule for cam4 :D so it now looks like this: ~cam4.com##.withAds
All people have to do is update their filter lists, and cam4 will work again for people with Ad Blockers. Without the other anonymous poster, I wouldn’t have known what filter it was, so thanks! we got the profiles back :P

Yes, you can block up to three countries. People from those countries will not see your cam listed in the directory. You set this up in Profile [Manage] -> Block
caramelsurprizecam is referring to blocking people from one’s own country. Someone in Texas may not want individuals from Illinois to see them in the directory.
There is less of an issue with living in the United States and not wanting users from Spain seeing you.
having problems staying logged in firefox plus loading pages too on cam4 all worked fine before up grade hope the development team get the messages left here.
I’m having trouble reporting abuse & I get friends & favourite buttons up when they are already in my friends & favourites.
I have a problem with deleting people from my friends list I can do it from my favourites but not from my friends list. Would you be able to fix this please as I want to delete a few people.
The other thing is when you get a friend invite you should be able to click on the name in the box & go that persons profile to check out who they are.
I mentioned not being able to delete our friends on May 29th. I assume the development team is aware of it.
Ok, first off thanks for fixing the problem with the friends list but it would be nice if there was a way to jump to a certain page and not only have to go forward or backward.
Also the online/offline function is barley noticeable. There needs to be a better way to see who is online.

I don’t know what you’ve done with your latest upgrade but now I’m finding 50% of the time the cams aren’t loading.
Couple that with the radical decline in the quality of broadcasters on this site since tokens were introduced, giving the place a distinct “meat market” vibe rather than the fun community feel of old, and I think it’s time for me to be off to pastures new.
I agree not all cams load up you have to reload/refresh to get the cam up & the meat market thing is also true to many now only do anything when they get tipped, its also get harder & harder to find those that juts want to chat. I know its an adult web cam site but still.
Without the next links available, you can access the other pages of your friends and favorites by putting “profiles/editFriendsAndFavorites.jsp?friends.offset=50” after the CAM4 home page URL for page 2, “100” at the end for page 3, “150” for page 4 and so on.
Bookmark them and you can open them up altogether via a bookmark folder. :)

Tom – The point is, we shouldn’t HAVE to do that!
Moreso, the concept of testing any new interface with real users on a beta site is critical to success.
This poorly-thought-out and non-user-friendly functionality is costing you far more in lost goodwill than it will gain you.
I think you should collect everyone’s name who’s responded here and add us to a beta test list for the future.
Also, a note on the top of the sign-in (home) page saying “click here to learn about the new feautres” is mandatory!

I am not saying we HAVE to do that. I am letting people know that is what is needed to be done if you want to view the other pages.
I had no idea there were changes coming, I am not fully part of the CAM4 team.
The vast majority of members don’t know that guests include non-chatting basic members.
I actually have the links to the second/third pages of my favorites bookmarked…but these days it seems when I try to go to them, half the time it works and the other half of the time, it just brings me to cam4’s homepage. Its almost like its by chance or something :/
You had to (as I mentioned) access the Friends and Favorites homepage before accessing the other pages.
Notice now, with the Next and Previous links that the URLs are different.
Besides the stuff already listed by others. I can’t delete anyone off my friends or favs. and have people on each list I never added. In general, the design isn’t that back, just not thought out as much as it should have been.
You are able to delete your favorites. You are not yet able to delete your friends.
I had the same thing happen with random folks showing up on my list. I thought maybe I accidentally added a friend while trying to look at the profile of the user in chat, but I’ve never seen the names of the people before. Glad it’s not me losing my mind (yet)!
I’m not shocked that cam4 would make massive changes instead of focusing on the myriad things that were (and still are) broken with the basic functionality of this site, but I have to say that I AM shocked that they’d allow such a half-baked interface (which broke even MORE) to be dropped onto us without so much as 30 minutes of testing. If it WAS tested, then both the developer and the tester are just as unstable as the coding. I also can’t believe that the changes haven’t been reversed yet (unless the old code had lots and lots of security holes that something drastic had to be done quickly).
It sucks and not in a good way. And that’s all I have to say and all I need to say.
Some remaining issues:
1. Broadcast archive images are not being captured and added to the archive since the update. In fact, some images that used to be there (and working) are now missing.
2. When in the ‘Manage’ – ‘Friends and Favourites’ section, only the first page is viewable (no link to go to any other pages).
3. The red and green indicators to show whether a cammer is online doesn’t work for people who are colour blind.
In all, a good effort but a major screwup. I can’t believe this wasn’t released on a beta site first with a link provided off the cam4 site for users to test before going live. I know if I created this much of a problem at my job, I would be out of a job. This one was a major disaster, Cam4. Please re-think future changes and first put your efforts into getting current technology working first (things like last broadcast dates going missing, inability to view some pages of cam listings because of ?pager, broken archive images, online/offline notifications not working.
The profile photos aspect ratios are wrong,and smaller images are blown up too large and are distorted
I’m glad you’re happy with the new updates, I haven’t got much to say about them cause I can’t bloody see them! Lol! As usual when you guys “update” things wont work. I can’t see any pics, bios and furthermore I can’t even enter my own profile to manage it, so no inbox no nothing. I must say though, I’m impressed how your updates always seem to screw things up. Along with all the old bugs come new ones. Just a though – next time make sure the updates actually work. And NO, there’s nothing wrong with my computer, nor my internet connection, I’ve heard of several ppl saying they have the exact same problems.
go back to the old fav and friends list, that’s all I am asking, and please included the short message too… whoever’s idea that was to change it, he needs some serious spanking…

Well … I like the overall feel and it’s much better to be able to actually read bios rather than squint at them. I also like the link to favorites who are broadcasting next to the live stream.
However:
– profile image upload doesn’t seem to be working at all
– gallery images that appear on profile pages have their aspects distorted
– sex questionnaire now shows the questions I’ve chosen not to answer (unlike profile) – so have had to turn it off
– would be good to see friends’ and favorites’ names and whether they are broadcasting from profile page
– would be good to be able to turn off links to social networks – I agree with others anyway that they are in the wrong place
– older comments from viewers seem to have gone altogether, which is a real shame
These are intended to be constructive comments; I hope they are helpful and that somebody actually reads this page!
The new design is clean, I like the social buttons, being able to see how many people are watching the show and the rating system.
What i don’t like: on manage, friends and favorites it’s very hard to see who’s online and who’s offline. The red/green square is very, very tiny and if you have a lot of favorites / friends it’s really hard to notice which ones are online. May I suggest you to use some kind of transparency. You could display the ones offline with let’s say a 50% transparency and the ones online without. That way it would be easier to see at a glance who’s online. Or use separate lists… or options to display only the online ones.
Also it would be useful if we could see the ratings stars on the main page where all thumbnails are displayed.

I have one issue with this..
Friends and Favorites.
I can’t seem to view a good chunk of them under Friends&Favorites.
Reading the comments its clear I am not alone in this. You need to fix this…

WTF has my friends and favourites gone? Can only see less than half of the amount of favourites I had. No way to see the rest, no link to page 2, more etc – just seems to be limited to 50. Come on seriously…
Is there no way to edit the photo galleries? I’d like to display them but would need to delete a couple before I can do that.
One thing I dislike is the new layout on profile pages.
The home/pictures/chat/etc. lines don’t need to be double-spaced.
Profile info shouldn’t be a line below the description; they should be on the same line.
On my screen, the rating stars split onto two lines – bad.
Under the stream, the premium “shortcuts” should be on the same line; I have trouble believing anyone uses them anyway.
The positions of the social networking and the Add to Friends/Favs should be swapped. It stands to reason that the “Add to” buttons are used far more frequently than will the social sites.
In the profile page Friends/Favs displays, I’ll take someone’s word that there IS a red or green pixel in each pic. Damned if I can see it.
That’s just the start.
The WORST “bug” is that there has been NO RESPONSE FROM ANYONE AT CAM4! Aside from the fact that this blog is impossible to find, it’s very frustrating to post messages and never see a reply.

I’m getting more use to the new site but I can’t view all of my friends and that really sucks! PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM!
What a clusterf@ck! Pics gone and can’t upload new ones. Page crashes. No access to favs and friends beyond the first 50. This isn’t even ready for beta testing!
The new site is beta at best and the changes were obviously being rolled out on the fly in a very amateur way. It’s either not been tested properly or the testing team need a slap. It’s very obvious there’s been no staging area or decent release process followed. It’s all very sloppy and half assed.
The inability to edit profiles is a terrible ommission and all the new buttons on profiles take an age to load and I doubt will see much use anyway.
It would have been nice to see some AJAX to swap galleries / wall comments that didn’t involve leaving the live broadcast.
It would have been nice to fix some of the bugs in the flash code also but it appears new features trump bug fixing – even major flaws!
well said, flaws should have come first you can’t fix something by making the stuff that works even better.
I don’t really know why you keep updating the site. There were plenty of bugs before that never got fixed and now even more things are messed up. I can’t even manage my profile,my uploaded pics wont show, my bio is gone and the list goes on and on. Not many ppl even read this blog, so it would be nice of you to announce big changes like this directly on the site.Did I mention I get messages in my inboxed that are meant for another member? Maybe next time you could be sure the “improvements” really work before changing everything.
as the others commented, the new interface is clumsy and just kinda bad. the small green/red box on your friends/favorites that you can’t see really blows if you’re color blind, too. while i keep my friends/favorites list kinda short, i heard others complain that they can’t get past names that start with D on their lists.
the profile images display slide show thing is all messed up, too. only one of mine showed up in the little sliding panel and the aspect ratio of the original image wasn’t kept so it was all distorted. when looking at the “image gallery” the smaller image was blown up to be HUGE and was all grainy. i deleted two of my profile images thinking i’d re-upload to fix the problem, but now it doesn’t even show the uploaded pic when i try to manage my images — it’s just an empty box with the description i typed when i uploaded it.
could you please involve some of the user community to preview some of this stuff for feedback before such huge changes are deployed? we could save you lots of grief and complaints :)
beyond the new interface problems, i have reported at least twice that “go private” is simply broken at best — you are given the opportunity to select the users to remain in your room while you’re changing from public to private modes, but when you check the names, scroll down and then go back to see if you got everyone, all the checkboxes switch around to different users. i end up just telling everyone to come back in a few minutes and restart my broadcast in private mode, giving the select uses the password that i’ll put on my room.
and yes, i actually PAY for this service… maybe i shouldn’t.
The new version is very buggy, like others mentioned I can only see the first few dozen favourites/friends in my list. The very tiny red/green “online” square in each friend/fav makes it VERY hard to skim the list to see who is online. A prominent border (as before) works much better, as would a “Who’s Online” filter mode. Usually I just want to skim my favs/friends and see if any of them are online. The old list way was much easier. Overall if the fixes can’t be done, I say go back to the old profile module. It was archaic but it just worked…
Whoever designed this new layout needs to be fired. They did a horrible job. It doesn’t look uniform or flow well at all. It’s honestly really bad looking.

what has happened to the friends and fav pages- can only access the old first page of them – no way to bring the remainder into view and cannot tell who is broadcasting. Cant see old broadcast pics – i not a happy bunny lets have the old version back please.
the new and “improved” cam4 really isn’t that great i actually like the older version better. Now i can’t see all my friends or favorites or see who is online. i also can’t see the old broadcasting photos. Overall it sucks now and wish i could go back to the old version
